With 25+ years of experience in UN agencies and non-governmental organizations, Lela has dedicated her career to advancing women’s health and rights, addressing inequalities, and driving transformative change. Her expertise spans sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender equality, population dynamics, ageing policies and the rights of older people. Throughout her career, Lela has driven impactful programmes, including Georgia’s first breast and cervical cancer screening programme, pioneering digital health solutions in reproductive healthcare, shaping national ageing policies and action plans, and establishing the first municipal clubs for healthy and active ageing. Her work has centered on policy advocacy, strategic partnerships, and resource mobilization to create comprehensive, sustainable solutions for women, girls, and older people.

With a background as a medical doctor, an MBA in General Management, with extensive trainings in global health and population policies, she brings a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic vision and ensures that SRG’s initiatives are impactful, data-driven, and sustainable.
