With over 20 years of experience in international and non-governmental organizations, Maiko has dedicated the past 15 years to driving positive change in social rights for conflict-affected communities. She has led efforts to improve access to quality healthcare for the most vulnerable populations, including people living with HIV (PLHIV), people who inject drugs (PWID), and patients with extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB) in Abkhazia. Since 2011, she has played a key role in replicating Georgia’s national cervical cancer screening program in the region, advancing reproductive health initiatives in challenging settings.

Maiko’s work has been instrumental in confidence-building and peace-building efforts, fostering long-term positive impact for conflict-affected communities. With a background as a medical doctor and extensive training in public health and innovation, she is a visionary leader with expertise in grassroots program implementation. At SRG, she continues to transform ideas into impactful programs, ensuring tangible and lasting improvements in social rights.
