As a proud member of the Global Alliance for the Rights of Older People (GAROP), we are committed to advocating for the rights and well-being of older individuals, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met through innovative and inclusive social initiatives.
The organization places special focus on conflict-affected communities and those with a high concentration of vulnerable populations, such as:
· Older people living alone
· Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)
· Communities with limited access to social and healthcare services.
SRG was born out of the belief that every person deserves to live with dignity, equality, and access to their basic rights. The three co-founders – development professionals who have worked together for over 20 years, recognized that their shared vision could contribute to lasting and profound change. Thus, the non-governmental organization Society for Social Rights in Georgia (SRG) was founded on January 15, 2025.
SRG was established to strengthen social rights, which is fundamental for human dignity and empowerment. Whether through advocacy, education, capacity building or direct support, the organization strives to safeguard and promote social rights, paying special attention to older people and vulnerable groups, and contribute to building an inclusive society where no one is left behind.
SRG’s activities cover the entire territory of Georgia and beyond.
- Strengthen social policies through advocating for policy improvements at national and local levels. - Increase access to quality healthcare, social services, and care, especially for older people, persons with disabilities, and internally displaced persons.
- Promote the full realization of social rights by raising public awareness about social rights and empowering individuals.
The mission of SRG is to improve the quality of life of the population in Georgia, including conflict-affected communities. By applying a human rights-based approach, SRG strives to reinforce enabling environment, strengthen systems and empower individuals to ensure realization of their social rights—rights that are fundamental to human dignity and empowerment.
